Vote NO on Propositions STUpid!
Don’t let anyone Trick you into thinking Propositions S, T, and U are for the good of our city. Tell Dallashero “We dont need another Hero” because our real heroes that are in our city departments deserve so much more than these measures that this rebuked group is trying to bring to our great city.
Here’s why you should vote NO on Propositions S,T, & U
- Prop S wastes our city’s precious funds defending frivolous lawsuits, allows anyone to sue the city at will. Say no to miSSpending; Say no to Splurging Say no to overStepping
- Prop T opens the door for tax hikes by giving the City Manager the power to select 1,400 survey respondents (or 1/1000 of the residents in this city) for a bonus system. Why should we reward the City Manager with more money for favorable feedback from just a tiny fraction of Dallas residents? We do not want anyone to raise their pay then walk away like our last city manager recently has done.
- Unjust, Unfair, & Unreasonble: Prop U would allocate half of all future revenue increases exclusively to the police department, leaving other essential services to fight over the leftovers. With a recent budget increase of nearly $150 million, that means $75 million annually taken from vital services.
Saying NO to STUpid means protecting our city’s resources and ensuring they’re used wisely. Let’s not allow these reckless propositions to dictate our future!
Vote NO on Props S, T, and U!
-
Increase the Dallas police force by 1,000 officers.
The Dallas Police Department will increase from 3,000 to 4,000 officers despite the department not meeting their annual officer quota of 250 officers, and the department not having the capacity nor the space to accommodate this # of officers.
-
Create a city budget deficit.
Over 60% of the city's budget is allotted for public safety. Also knowing that Dallas has approved a nearly 5 billion dollar budget that will go into effect on Oct 1, 2024. Allotting more money to the police department would send us closer to bankruptcy and significantly decrease the budget for other city services (e.g. Arts and Culture, Economic Development, Parks and Recreation, etc.)
Dallas Not for Sale
Dallas belongs to its people, not corporate interests. Props S, T, U is a power grab that prioritizes policing over investing in communities and social justice.
We Don't Need Another Hero
Dallas HERO Props S, T, U pushes for more policing at the expense of addressing systemic issues. We need resources for community services, not more police expansion.
Don't Bankrupt Dallas
Props S, T, U threatens to drain city resources, pushing Dallas toward bankruptcy. Investing in over-policing will cut funding for essential programs like arts, culture, and parks that make our city thrive.
Departments That Would See Budget Cuts
